Roswitha Dasch (Germany; violin, voice)

graduated in violin from the Musikhochschule Köln and studied voice privately. Her intensive involvement with Jewish culture and music led to her founding the music ensembles "Pajkele" in 1987 and "Lewone" in 1996. With her current duo partner, Katharina Müther (Duo Wajlu) she has had an active touring schedule both in and outside of Germany for many years.  In 1998 she presented "Es iz geven a zumertog", a concert program of songs from the Vilna Ghetto, in the German Parliament. She also curated an exhibition and made a documentary film on the same topic, "Sage nie, du gehst den letzten Weg", with filmmaker Sabine Friedrichs. She is active as a teacher in many different workshops. Her artistic career features numerous radio and television productions and a CD production with Brave Old World, "Metropolis Shanghai". In 2007, The "Klezmer Festival" she founded in Wuppertal celebrated its 10th anniversary, in the course of which she presented many artists and won a large following for klezmer music beyond the boundaries of her own home city of choice. A further artistic focus of hers is cabaret, among others in her program about Erika Mann and her Cabaret in Exile, "The Pepper Mill."
