Amit Weisberger (France; violin, strohfidl)

Born in Jerusalem in 1975, Amit moved from Israel to France 4 years ago. He plays violin, mandolin and sings in the Beigale Orkestra and in Yiddisher Fantasy (an old-style European klezmer trio of violin, cymbalom and cello). He also performs in the Yiddish musical theater piece Shlémiel (Avignon Theater Festival 2010). He has studied violin with Iacob Maciuca (Romania), Steven Greenman (USA) and Jake Shulman-Ment.  He has taught violin at the Traditional Music School of Redon (Bretagne) and gives klezmer workshops and conferences with Jérôme Block.
