Jacobus Thiele (Germany; drums, percussion)

drummer and percussionist from Braunschweig, Germany, has played drumset since the age of 11 in different styles, starting from rock and pop until jazz became one of his main focuses at the age of 20.
In his mid twenties he got interested in percussion and the various styles that where connected to them like Afro-Cuban & Brazilian music and music from Arabic and Balkan Regions.
Touring in Europe with his Balkan, Klezmer, Folk band A Glezele Vayn for the last 5 years, however he is not losing interest in his other fields getting involved in projects reaching from Jazz and Pop to Contemporary Music and collaborations with actors and dancers.
Since 2010 he studies world percussion at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam with his main focus on Arabic, Brazilian percussion and percussion set-up.
