Clarinetist/composer Michael Winograd is at the center of the new generation of klezmer musicians in New York. With incredible technical skill and musicianship, he has taken the best of the great Klezmer revival clarinetists such as Joel Rubin, Kurt Bjorling, Christian Dawid, David Krakauer and Andy Statman, mastered the golden age klezmer clarinet styles of Naftule Brandwein, Dave Tarras and Shloimke Beckerman, and cooked it all together to create a style that is simply the most powerful clarinet voice of his generation.
Together with his equally innovative and accomplished partners, accordionist Patrick Farrell and bassist Benjy Fox-Rosen, this trio represents the most rooted and adventurous New Yiddish Music in the world today. With guest artist, Alan Bern on piano.
