studied classical clarinet at the junior department of the Royal College of Music, London where she was awarded a scholarship at 16. At 18, she was offered a further scholarship to study clarinet at the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music, where she graduated with a BA (Hons) in Music. During her studies, she performed as principal clarinetist in both the "National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain" and the "Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra", conducted by the late Yehudi Menuhin. From 2002, whilst learning from renowned klezmer artists, Emma performed with London based klezmer group ‘Nomadica’. Since then, Emma has taught and played at Yiddish and klezmer music festivals in Europe including Klezfest London, Klezmer Paris and Klezmore, Vienna. She writes her own Yiddish Music some of which she performs with the ‘Queen Esther Klezmer Trio’, and which has also been featured on their debut album. She has also written for other esteemed artists and plays as guest clarinetist with the German based Yiddish Song Duo ‘Wajlu’. Emma holds a professional diploma in music teaching and is an experienced teacher of music at all levels and various different styles. After living in Cologne for 5 years she has moved back to her hometown of London.
