is a multi-instrumentalist, arranger and composer. He is best known for his innovative work in the contemporary Yiddish music scene with bands such as Forshpil and Alpen Klezmer, among many other projects.
He has been researching, performing and teaching traditional music for the last 10 years, exploring both its traditional and experimental sides.
Ilya has taught and performed klezmer at festivals and concerts in Weimar, Krakow, Montreal, London, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Riga among other places.
