Sanne Möricke (*1971) is a highly sought after klezmer accordionist. She first studied ethnomusicology and then took up accordion studies in Amsterdam. She has specialized in Yiddish instrumental music since 1992, and also studied music from south-eastern Europe.
Sanne Möricke was co-founder of DI KALLES (NL), probably the first-ever all-female klezmer band. Over the years she has played in many different ensembles with a variety of line-ups and styles. She also gained experience as a theatre and studio musician.
She teaches and performs at many international festivals and seminars such as the Cracow Festival of Jewish Culture, KlezKamp, Ashkenaz, Yiddish Summer Weimar, Safed Klezmer Festival, Klezmer Paris, Klezmore Vienna, KlezFest London, and Jiddisch Festival Leeuwarden.
Sanne Möricke has performed with numerous internationally renowned artists, such as Frank London's Klezmer Brass Allstars (USA), Lorin Sklamberg, Susan Hoffman Watts, Michael Alpert, the Strauss/Warschauer Duo, Veretski Pass (all USA), Christian Dawid (D), Moussa Berlin (ISR), Shtetl Band Amsterdam (NL), and Sema (TR).
She lives in Berlin.
