Franka Lampe (Germany; accordion)

Franka Lampe started playing the accordion in 1989. She taught herself before studying with Alan Bern. She has played Klezmer and eastern European music in numerous groups and currently performs with Andrea Pancur (Federmentsch), with Di Finkelstein Kapelye, Ljuti Hora, the modern klezmer quartet, sher on a shier and with the cantor Jalda Rebling.

Franka Lampe has also made guest appearances amongst others with Ot Azoj Klezmerband (NL), TangoToy (D), Brave Old World (USA), Kasbek Klezmer-Ensemble (D), Sukke (D/NL/GB) und Di Fidl Kapelye (NL).
She is also a sought-after stage musician and composer, for example at Berlin’s Gorki Theater, the Shakespeare Ensemble and the Black Swan Theater and she is a well-respected teacher at festivals such as musica viva, AMJ and Yiddish Summer Weimar.

She has performed on stages in Belgium, Denmark, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Tunisia and the USA.
