Steffen Illner was born in Schwerin and moved to Berlin to study double bass at the Hanns Eisler conservatory.
He stayed in Berlin where he lives and works as a freelance musician.
As well as his various band projects, ranging from jazz and electronic club music to salsa and Yiddish music, he works regularly for the theater.
Current projects include a tour with Eckart von Hirschhausen.
