was born in Curacao and grew up in Australia. She studied classical violin and world music at Codarts in Rotterdam. In a short time she became a sought-after fiddler on the European Klezmer stage. 

She co-founded ‘Kol Ishe’, ‘Figelin’, and ‘Knakl’, and has played as guest musician with ‘Khevrisa’ (U.S.) and ‘Shtetl Band Amsterdam’ (NL). She teaches and performs at international Klezmer festivals, such as Sydney, Lviv, Vienna, Weimar, Fürth and Leeuwarden.



Since moving to Berlin in 2013 Vanessa has played in various theater productions at the Maxim Gorki Theater, Neuköllner Oper and the Hauptstadtoper.

Vanessa is based and teaches in Berlin.
